Color Correction

Depending on how well you protect your family photos, they can easily become aged. Until fairly recently, many commercial photo albums were produced using materials that were harmful to the papers and inks used for prints. The results were often a yellowing of the original.

Standard glass in a picture frame also causes problems with photos. The sun can wreak havoc on nearly any paper product over time. The newer non-glare and anti-reflective glass products prevent this, but for many older photos, the damage is already done.

This particular example was found while putting together one of our Photo Medleys on DVD. The photo was discovered in an older album where it had been aging for a couple decades.

Let’s take a closer look at the photo:

Photo left in an album for far too long... acids yellowed the paper badly

We manually corrected the color and removed all of the scratches and other damage (using our Image Repair services). We even took the extra time to close someone’s zipper! Here you can see the finished photo:

This photo required some painstaking repair and color correction. We even closed a zipper!

As can be seen upon closer inspection of the corrected image, it would be VERY difficult to even know that the photo had been damaged by aging in the first place…
